How long after taking Flagyl for BV can I have sex?
Q. I completed my regimen of 500mg flagyl, 2 pills a day for 7 days to treat BV yesterday, and was wondering how long I have to wait before I have sex. The pamphlet I received did not specify. I know obviously I was not supposed to have sex while on the pills, which I didn't, but am wondering if everything seems to have cleared, when I am safe to have sex again? Thanks!

A. Did your MD say anything about your partner being treated - alot of times if your partner is not treated you will get the infection back - you may have given to him or him given it to you - I would call the MD and check about that if I were you

A. No BV does not stop your period, you may find it heavier or that you cramp as unhealthy vagina equates to unhealthy menstruation...but it won't stop your period all together.

BV and pregnant What are the risks to baby?
Q. I was wondering what damage BV does when you are pregnant, i understand it can lead to premature birth, but what else can it do to the baby. EG if you went into premature labour can the baby get it, will he then be at risk of dying from it. I am 33 weeks how dangerous is BV at this stage. I don't know if i have it, i will call the doctors in the morning to make an appointment as its 23:42 right now.

A. Don't worry you will be fine. I'm 11 weeks I was diagnosed with BV last week and had to take a 7 day antibiotic and it is now cleared up and everythings fine. I freaked out at first but really the only reason you should ever freak out about it, is if it's not getting treated...cause then it can result in alot of things. If you get it treated right away it won't cause harm to you or your baby. Don't read a bunch of scary stories online ...Alot of people don't know alot about BV...I listend to what my doctor told me, and she said it really was no big deal since I only had it for 3 days and then was getting treated for it. good luck!

Could anyone recommend any good murder mystery party sets by BV leisure?

A. There is nothing that will clear this up but antibiotics. That is why the name "bacterial" vaginitis. It means there is a bacterial infection present and only antibiotics can clear up a bacterial infection. You have wasted a lot of time when a 10 day course could have had this cleared up already.

A. I can't really answer your question as I'm going through the same thing right now except i'm not on anything prescription yet. I have read that antibiotics kills the good bacteria you need L. Acidophilus. So even though you take antibiotics, it's killing all the bacteria including the good which you need to keep the ph balance of the vagina normal around 3.5 - 4.5. Go to this website it really helps click on ailments and then find bacterial vaginosis. There's lots of home remedies on there. Good Luck.

A. You need to go to the doctor for that. The doctor needs to test to make sure that that is what you have. If so you will need to take a course of antibiotics. Can't get those without a prescription from the doctor. Good luck!

Q. I was diagnosed with BV otherwise known as bacterial vagosis. A. BV is the name of a condition in women where the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted and replaced by an overgrowth of certain bacteria. It is sometimes accompanied by discharge, odor, pain, itching, or burning. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common vaginal infection in women of childbearing age. The vagina normally contains mostly "good" bacteria, and fewer "harmful" bacteria. BV develops when there is an increase in harmful bacteria. Not much is known about how women get BV. How do I find Vaginal Gel for BV?
Q. How do I find the vaginal gel that neutralizes the vaginal PH to remedy BV? I know that there is one sold in the UK, but how do I get it in the US. I am not referring to the routine antibiotic treatments.
Asked by luvnbirth - Mon Jan 26 08:33:13 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. A course of oral Metronidazole antibiotics is the usual treatment. Metronidazole vaginal gel or intravaginal clindamycin are other options. Make sure you also avoid vaginal douching and using perfumed shower gels and soaps etc around your vagina. Just see a Dr who will diagnose BV and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Edit Your Dr can also prescribe the Metronidazole vaginal gel or intravaginal clindamycin. You don't have to have oral antibiotics- however they tend to be more effective.

Q. I've been having recurrent BV and yeast for the past 2 months! A. Use of public jacuzzi's or even ones that are private but poorly maintained, can lead to all sorts of problems, including yeast & BV. The hot water is NOT hot enough to kill off the bacteria and/or yeast. It is usually at the optimal temperature to propigate it (help it grow), actually!! And not everyone uses the right amount of chemicals to kill off grunge...IF they use the chemicals at all! If you're symptom free right now, stay away from that jacuzzi!! If the symptoms continue to stay away then you have your answer. While it could be the water, it could also be just heat. Every woman has natually occurring bacteria in their vagina. In the right conditions, that bacteria can overgrow and become Vaginosis. Also, if you haven't… [cont.]

Q. That means you had bv and not an std right?
Asked by Teressa - Tue May 26 02:05:51 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Exactly ! But recurrence of bacterial vaginosis is possible even after successful treatment. More than half of those treated experience recurrent symptoms within 12 months. It is unclear why so many recurrent (may be multiple sex partners) infections develop. With recurrent symptoms, a second course of antibiotics is generally prescribed. If any person has a new sex partner or multiple sex partners there are possibilities of involvement of other bacteria (casing syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, etc) and serious complications. There is possibility of transmission in sex partners. Having trichomoniasis and BV may increase the chance of getting HIV and infected woman passes HIV to her sex partner(s). Multiple or new sexual partners,… [cont.]

The barrel on my new savage mark II bv is not perfectly floating, is this a problem?
Q. I can't pull a piece of paper all the way down the barrel. Close but not quite. There seems to be more space on one side than the other. Otherwise the gun shoots perfectly. I put about 200 rounds through it the other night. Shoots tight groups whether the barrel is hot or cold. The barrel is laminate. It's almost like the barrel is not perfectly centered. Only off by a millimeter or so though. Just worried abouth whether this could escalate into a bigger problem. OOPs stock laminate not barrel.
Asked by JonnyK - Thu Jan 22 15:37:12 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is very easy to correct this problem. Remove the action from the stock. Get a candle and light it and wave it under the barrel to put a coat of soot on the bottom of the barrel. Replace the action into the stock and tighten down the screw(s). Carefully remove the action from the stock again and look for soot marks on the barrel channel. This will show where the barrel is touching the stock. Wrap a piece of 80 grit sandpaper around a dowel about the size of a broom handle and sand away the soot mark(s) in the barrel channel of the stock. Once again use the candle to put a fresh coating of soot on the bottom of the barrel. Replace it in the stock, remove it and look to see if there are any soot marks in the barrel channel. If not, [cont.]

Q. What's the difference between av, bv and cv rated lawyers?
Asked by charianka2 - Thu Oct 30 11:56:41 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. av bv and cv are rankings developed by Martindale-Hubbell, the publisher of a legal directory that lists most lawyers in the United States. The ratings are developed based on comments received from other lawyers in confidential surveys. Not all lawyers have a rating. The fact that a lawyer is unrated does not necessarily mean there is anything wrong. Some lawyers request that they not be rated. av is the highest, bv is in the middle, and cv is the lowest rating. You should go with a lawyer who is av rated. bv is okay. I would stay away from the cv rated lawyer, however, because that indicates that other lawyers have questions about his or her legal ability.

A. Well it sounds like you may have a urinary tract infection in the kidney (pyelonephritis) that is unrelated to the BV you had. This is even more likely if you are having fever, burning when you urinate or need to urinate frequently. Unfortunately most urinary tract infections would not be treated with the same antibiotic that treats BV. The urinary tract infection can be diagnosed by seeing a doctor and usually a simple urine test. Then a course of antibiotics. I know you do not have insurance and I don't know where you live. I know there are free clinics or discount clinics located here and maybe you could talk to a social worker to find out what rescources are available in your community. How do you put the yogurt in for the BV cure?
Q. How do you get the plain yogurt in there?
Asked by curious - Thu Sep 11 16:35:54 2008 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Ok, honey. You don't ever put yogurt in your vagina. If you are on antibiotics, its wise to EAT yogurt to help prevent you from getting a yeast infection. You should take antibiotics for bacterial vaginitus, but you can end up with a yeast infection afterwards, so eating yogurt is recommended to reintroduce healthy bacteria into your system. Make sure to eat yogurt with "live active cultures". Activia will work, any flavor.

Q. The bumps are located on the outer lips and inner thigh. They aren't really painful but they are very itchy and irritated. Has anyone else noticed bumps down there in result of having a Bacterial Vaginosis infection?

A. I highly doubt that its anything serious. The skin down there is Probably just irritated. I've had that happen before with my BV. And I don't have herpes. I hope yours goes away and you never get it again. I've had BV ALOT this year... and it really sucks.

A. You can visit the website of the service provider of your phone and you can check there is an option like "Do Not Disturb" or something. Go there and activate that service. Either you can call to the call center and can tell them to stop extra services and it will stop coming to you.
