Is it possible to make an antiviral drug that kills viruses?
Q. Say, a synthetic phago- or lymphocyte. Not just something that inhibits growth. Something that doesn't have antigens so it wont be attacked by the body's immune system.
Asked by hellothere. - Sat May 30 13:53:08 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The closest thing at the moment is a vaccine, or a monoclonal antibody against the viral particles which could be given IV. Synthetic cells would have the problem of being seen as pathogens by the body and being rejected / killed by the immune system.
