How does one break an Ambein Addiction?
Q. How does one break an Ambein Addiction?

A. I really feel for you. I have been there. I could fill up this page of all the ridiculous things I used to do while I was on Ambien. But that's not what you asked so I want. I just had to decide one day that enough was enough and throw them in the toilet. I was absouletly miserable. I talked to my doctor and he put me on Ambien CR (non narcotic) which didn't seem to do much and then on Trazadone which seems to help pretty well. None work as well as Ambien did, but Ambien just wasn't worth the side effects. Good luck! Email me if you have any other questions.

what is better lunesta or ambein?
Q. I have been taking ambien but it hasn't been working that well and I'm wondering if anyone has taken lunesta and how well it works.
Asked by twizliz - Wed Jun 10 07:15:19 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There is no "better" one as far as sleeping medication is concerned. What works for one person might not work for another. If Ambien is not working for you, by all means discuss it with your doctor and try an alternative until you find one that works. Lunesta is one of many options. Good luck!

I crushed up Ambein and put it in my wifes drink so I could...?
Q. Sometimes (like last night) put Ambien in my wifes coffee after dinner, knocks her out in 20 mins, then I get to watch whatever I want on TV and drinks some beers without having to listen or look at her, is this mean? Its not like she passes out in her chair, she just says she is getting tired and heads to bed, no big deal. If she is drinking wine, sometimes I increase the dosge and she slurs her speech, funny as heck

A. I think it's so funny that when I asked a similar question (i.e. I put laxatives in husbands food when he didn't get me anything for my birthday), I was met with a positive response by the majority of those answering. When YOU ask a question along a similar line, you are met with complete negativity. Think it might have something to do with our genders? However, if she's drinking alcohol, mixing drugs and alcohol could be extremely dangerous for her. It can kill people, or at the very least, hospitalize her. How embarassing would it be to have to explain to doctors and to your wife that the reason she needed medical attention was becuase you were drugging her.

A. I didn't like Ambien because all it would to is make me "dopey" (for lack of a better word). But, I'm larger than the average person (6'7'') and they gave me the same dose as the would have given for, say, a 5'2'' lady at 115 lbs. For the most part, though, whenever it did finally put me to sleep, I'd almost always wake up at 7 am. But I wasn't super-groggy either. I'd always get my maximum amount of sleep (because the 8-hour recommended sleep is a crock). I wish you luck on your sleep aid. Not everyone is affected the same way, but I could give you a little bit of advice: Don't drive within 10 minutes of waking up after taking it the night previous. I was actually struggling against the medicine, but it was an emergeny, and no one… [cont.]

A. please seek professional help. there are plenty of online sites that could help you if you cant afford a therapist. Clearly you are going through a rough time and havent been able to do it alone and if your ready to stop you will need a ton of support.

A. Homeopathy :- If you have been using sleeping pills and still cant go to sleep take nux vomica 30C about half hour before your bedtime and just lie down you will be sleeping like a baby before you know it and it will get rid of your pill popping habit too and you will wake up feeling refreshed and active after it . Safe to take 2 10mg ambiens?
Q. I took an ambien 10mg about 11pm est with 1 xanax and then I woke up around 12:30 so I took another 1 and half .5 xanax and I still cant sleep so my question is can I take another Ambein now that it is 3 am for me and I am wide awake? Just to make this clear all of these drugs are prescribed to me, I have chronic insominia for years and until now 1 10mg ambien and a .5 xanax would put me to sleep for the night. Now I am lucky to get an hour or two. Please no one suggest benadryl it will make me sleep a few hours too but it makes me feel so groggy I can't stand it. Rozerem doesnt do a thing for me :( I took 3 one night and finally went to sleep after a few hours. I have also taken lunesta which works pretty well but it leaves this awful… [cont.]

A. It is definitely not "dangerous". Unless mixed with alcohol, and more Xanax than you are describing, taking one more will not be harmful. The problem with Ambien is that you become very tolerant to it after a while. Although it doesn't cause a physical dependence, it probably does cause a psychological one. I think the generic ambien does not work as well in my experince, as the trade name. It shouldn't be any different, but I can tell a big difference. I agree with you about Lunesta and Benadryl. Without knowing your full medical history... My recommendation to you is to suffer 1 week with no ambien, and then restart slowly and try to use it every other night. I know it sounds hard, but you will likely find success. Try 2 Valerian's… [cont.]

Should I take more Ambien?
Q. I'm 16 and weigh about 105 lbs and I just took 10mg of Ambien and I feel pretty drowzy but making myself stay awake. Besides feelinga little tired I'm not getting any highs or hallucinagins and I can still clearly talk and think and see. Should i take another 5mg Ambein? Or wait longer to experience the effects.
Asked by bionca - Sat Jan 31 01:08:32 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I don't know who told you Ambien is supposed to work that way but they lied to you. If you take more you will only cause yourself physical problems, not a high. You can wait as long as you want but you will only eventually pass out... have really bad dreams, and feel weird and out of it for the next 48 hrs. Ambien is not a drug to get high on. In addition, you could spur a psychotic episode and then you will be hospitalized, and could have to get electroshock and all of that. Not sure why you think you want to hallucinate and get high, but the drug you picked was certainly not a safe one for that.

Asked by dreamlover6094 - Sat May 29 18:43:44 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If both were prescribed to you then it should be fine. Also 5 mg of Ambien is a low dose. Most importantly codeine only lasts 4-6hrs so it is no longer working if you took it at 11:30 am. Not to mention that it is common for people to take a hypnotic and an analgesic at the same time. Always keep in mind that if you have legitimate prescriptions and the doctor or doctors prescribing knew all your medication then you should be safe.

I can't sleep due to my anxiety, what medicine can help?
Q. I have lately been suffering from severe anxiety, which leads to many sleepless nights. I probably get 11-14 hours of sleep a week lately (the past two months) and i am exhausted. But i cannot sleep due to my anxiety. I have tried xanax and that actually has a reverse reaction on me. I have tried Ambein/Lunesta and both do nothing. I am desperate and am considering going to the hospital because my local doctor just keeps prescribing a higher dose of Ambein. Anyone have this problem or know a solution or maybe a drug that helps? thanks.

real labor coming or not?
Q. So i went to the hospital this morning with VERY strong contractions that were about 5 minutes apart. They stayed consistent at the hospital but the second they stopped being consistent they sent me home with a Percocet and ambein because i wasnt dilating at all and told me to get some rest. After i woke up they werent half has strong as they had been and then pretty much completely stopped. so i took another nap feeling tired and having a headace. Now that i am awake again i am getting some pretty strong contractions that are still not regulated. This is driving me nuts. How long can this go on for. Is it the beginning of labor or just false labor. I am 4 cm and 70% efaced. But was told that yesterday at my doc appt and had no change… [cont.]

A. Wow!! 36 weeks is early, although not far fetched. My water broke at 36 weeks with my first so I have done that. It sounds like what is prodromal labor. It's not necessary false labor, as there is nothing false about any labor. The contractions might be toning the uterus or they might be effacing you but they just aren't dilating the cervix. Prodromal labor is the most frustrating labor you can go through. I have had it start at 36 weeks and go clear to my due date when I did finally start real labor. Personally, I would try drinking alot of water and lie on your right side, as if you were in preterm labor and trying to stop it. You can get in a warm tub and that will help with the contractions and possibly slow you down. You can… [cont.]

What is the best treatment option for Severe Chronic Insomnia when most other treatments have failed?
Q. Background: These are the medications I have been on for sleep (none have worked): Chloral Hydrate, Ambein, Lunesta, Sonata, most antihistamines (incl. Hydroxyzine), most benzo's (incl. Nitrazepam, Xanax bars, Klonopin, etc.), Trazedone. My doctor ramped most of these up to their maximum doses before finding them ineffective for me. NOTE: I also tried some other drugs (the street kind) which only made me high and not sleepy - including green crack (a special variant of MJ where I live - knocks most people out in a half hour - despite the name there is no 'crack' in it) - and alcohol, which only gave me a bleeding ulcer - note that MJ is legal in my state for medicinal use (for which I have a license) I have co-occuring severe… [cont.]

A. I was just wondering if you had tried a more 'natural' approach to correcting your insomnia as opposed to all the medications. I had a conditon a year ago that required me to take a lot of prescription meds. Some of these meds actually contributed to my lack of sleep. I was tired all day, couldn't concentrate and this did not help the depression that I was suffering from due to the medical condition either. My doctor prescribed more medications for the insomnia and I became increasingly concerned about having to mix so many medications. So, I decided to try the natural methods and they did help me. Good sleep hygiene and sleep habits: You need to schedule a bed time and stick with it. Turn off that television about an hour before… [cont.]

Easing Oxycodone And Opiate Withdrawals?
Q. Hi All, I have been compiling a guide (I am a recovering painkiller addict) of things that are helpful to someone who quit and is recovering. Can you add something besides- rest, food, yadda yadda so far I have? Most of the list below I have found to be useful through trial and error. I am not looking for therapy, and GOD answers. Im looking for a grunt's guide for those who are going to quit at home. 1)Benzodiazapines (preferably Valium) 2)Requip (For restless leg) 3)Marijuanna (high quality) 4)Clonidine (but only help a very small amount) 5)Ambein (to sleep) 6)Ibprofen

A. Methadone. You want something of the same class with a very long half life. The meds above would only part of the symptoms that methadone would cover. Getting back a natural circadian rhythm by waking up the same time of the day would eliminate some sort of sleep med. Maybe someone with a pill problem shouldn't look for another pill to solve it. Check first with a licensed health practitioner before making any drastic changes.
